Hello! I'm Bridget
Founder of Nouvelle Nomad based somewhere in the world between Melbourne, Australia and Marrakech, Morocco.
Since 2016 I've been partnering with local family businesses, artisan makers and specialist carpet traders here in Morocco to curate this special collection of handwoven vintage rugs and artisan made wares.
Always with the same ethos in mind - a focus on giving a new life to beautiful authentic vintage textiles and working directly with the makers to sustainably produce our homewares and travel collections.
About Our Rugs
Our online collection is just a small representation of the many different weaving styles and designs originating from the various Berber tribes and traditional handcraft regions of Morocco. One of a kind artworks full of history and character to be treasured.
Each vintage rug is a unique item mostly aged between 30 to 80 years old, carefully hand washed and hand restored here in Marrakech using materials that best suit the original naturally dyed wools and weaving style, before being shipped to their new homes around the world.

A Bit About Me
I founded Nouvelle Nomad back in 2016 on my second solo trip to Morocco as a way to share the joys of travel while collecting these beautiful handmade treasures along the way.
With a background in big brands and major fashion retailers, starting my own business was about a slower and more mindful pace, celebrating the beautiful treasures that already exist rather than producing more.
In the beginnings of Nouvelle Nomad I spent many weeks at a time in the souks of Marrakech searching though 1000s of vintage rugs for the first collections, chatting with shop owners and carpet traders over mint tea.
Weeks turned into months taking the time to travel extensively through Morocco exploring and experiencing all that this diverse and welcoming country has to offer.
Before eventually setting up a home in Marrakech where I have been based on and off over the last few years in between stints back in Melbourne where I've opened pop up showrooms and held events to welcome our community of design lovers, travellers and creatives.
You may have visited one of our pops ups in Fitzroy, Collingwood, Carlton the Mornington Peninsula, or the Mark Tuckey showrooms in Thornbury or Fitzroy.
Over the last 8 years Nouvelle Nomad has been more than a business to me. The connections and friendships formed to people and places, Marrakech's creative community, and the vibrancy of the city that has been my second home keeps me forever inspired.
